PARK CONSTRUCTION
The Village of Kalida and Kalida Park Foundation, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation and Bockrath & Associates Engineering and Surveying, have embarked on a project to install or replace 16,408 feet of sidewalks throughout the Village of Kalida as well as the installation of a new pedestrian bridge on SR 114 over Plum Creek. This project, centered around the Kalida Park System, will better connect village residents to their parks and create a complete loop for pedestrian traffic.
All funding for these improvements will come from state and federal funding through ODOT's Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP). This program provides funds for, among other things, on- and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities. Because of this program, over $1.6 million will be invested into the village's infrastructure.
Construction is anticipated to begin this summer and conclude in October 2026. Please understand that due to this, access to some parts of the parks maybe be temporarily limited while we improve the connectivity of our park system.
